About Me

My name is Andy Love. I'm a drummer, composer, bandleader, teacher and of course breakdancer. I love all music as long as it is good. I've played in more bands than I can remember, 9 musicals and one cruise ship. My goal in life is to live well. My goal in music is to create music that makes people dance and think. I try to combine elements of every single kind of music I've ever heard into my ideas because there's nothing more beautiful than combining different flavours to make new ones.

Anyway, I started as a rock player, always loved Hip Hop since I was 12, soon discovered the wonderful worlds of Jazz and especially Cuban and Brasilian music (and world beat in general) at Humber College, then became obsessed with Jungle and electronica through friendships with DJ's and other like minded musicians.
My new passions are African music, particularly the style of Afro Beat from Ghana and Nigeria and Northern African and Arabic music. I hope I can learn at least one song from every country in the world before I die.

My favorite electronic device is a real time looping sampler called the Echoplex Digital Pro Plus. It has the power to transform me into twenty drummers (if you use it right) and is am amazing writing tool. All the original music you hear on this website was written and recorded using the Echoplex.

I am always looking for new collaborations with other artists. If you like my music, I would welcome requests for loops, samples that I created myself.
